New Harbor Capital Promotes Three Team Members

New Harbor is pleased to announce the promotions of three team members: John Pircon and Justin Marquardt have been promoted to Partner, and Drew Nicholson has been promoted to Vice President. 

“These promotions are extremely well deserved,” said Ed Lhee, Partner at New Harbor.  “From working closely with our portfolio companies to originating, evaluating and executing new investment opportunities, John, Justin, and Drew have each proven themselves to be invaluable members of our team. We are thrilled to promote them into these leadership positions as our firm continues to grow.”

John Pircon

John Pircon has been promoted from Principal to Partner. John is responsible for leading investments, primarily in the healthcare sector. His current Corporate Directorships include FYZICAL, Ocean State Healthcare, and Quigley Eye Specialists. John was also instrumental in New Harbor’s successful investments in Community Psychiatry and KURE Pain Management.

John was a member of the founding team at New Harbor. Prior to New Harbor, John was an Associate at CHS Capital where he worked on a variety of transactions including Royall & Co. and Heartland Dental Care. Prior to joining CHS, John worked in the investment banking division of Robert W. Baird & Co.

John earned a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Northwestern University.

Justin Marquardt

Justin Marquardt has been promoted from Principal to Partner. Justin is responsible for leading investments, primarily in the education sector. His current Corporate Directorships include Blueprint Education, Certica Solutions, and New York Kids Club.

Prior to joining New Harbor Capital in 2015, Justin was an Associate at Prairie Capital, and prior to that, an Associate in the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley in Chicago. 

Justin graduated with High Honors from the University of Chicago’s JD/MBA program, where he was a Kirkland & Ellis Scholar, and also holds degrees from the University of Oxford and Georgetown University, where he graduated summa cum laude.

Drew Nicholson

Drew Nicholson has been promoted from Senior Associate to Vice President. Drew has been instrumental in supporting numerous investments since joining New Harbor Capital in 2017.

Prior to New Harbor, Drew worked in the Sponsor Finance Group at Bank of Montreal, exclusively focusing on middle market leverage finance transactions. Prior to BMO, he worked in the Expert Testimony Group at Ocean Tomo.

Drew earned his BA in Economics with General Honors from The University of Chicago.
