New Harbor Capital Hires Information Technology Leadership for Portfolio Operations Group
New Harbor Capital is excited to announce it has hired Alan Williamson and Ryan Burch into its Portfolio Operations Group (“POG”) as Partner, Information Technology, and Director, Information Technology, respectively.
Alan and Ryan will lead the information technology activities for New Harbor’s POG, bringing deeper technology insights to its portfolio companies. They will be responsible for deploying technology, systems, and proprietary software solutions, as well as harnessing the value of data and analytics to support New Harbor’s portfolio companies.
Formed in July of 2021, the POG directly assists New Harbor’s portfolio companies with quickly building scale and operational sophistication as they grow. Alan and Ryan bring the total POG employee count to four. New Harbor plans to continue building this team in other functional areas, such as marketing and recruiting, in the future.

Alan Williamson
Partner, Portfolio Operations Group – Information Technology
Alan brings over 25 years of data and technology experience to his role as Partner, Portfolio Operations Group – Information Technology. Most recently, Alan served as Chief Technology Officer and Partner of MacLaurin Group, supporting portfolio company operations through CTO and Architectural Advisory. He has provided CTO executive team leadership for multiple private equity-backed organizations, including Royall & Company, a former portfolio company of CHS Capital.
Serving as Technology Principal at ParkerGale Capital, Alan rebuilt and delivered the complete architecture for their IoT company to run exclusively within Amazon cloud around a microservices design pattern, backed by a full RESTful API. Alan has published several books in the Java space covering Enterprise Java, Servlets, JavaMail, and database access.
Alan holds a degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Digital Control from the University of Paisley, Scotland.
Ryan Burch
Director, Portfolio Operations Group – Information Technology
Ryan brings over 10 years of experience working for and alongside private equity portfolio companies to his role as Director, Portfolio Operations Group – Information Technology. Most recently, Ryan worked for Maclaurin Group as VP of Engineering. During his time at MacLaurin Group, he worked with numerous private equity firms and portfolio companies providing technical due diligence, technology advisory, and hands-on cloud software development.
Before joining MacLaurin Group, Ryan was Chief Technology Officer of CodeArcs, where he worked with a variety of private equity portfolio companies on large engineering efforts, such as cloud migration and legacy application modernization.
Ryan got his start at Royall & Company, a former portfolio company of CHS Capital. During his time at Royall, he developed many highly scalable, business-critical systems that helped power the growth of the company.
Ryan holds a degree in Computer Science from Virginia Tech.
