New Harbor Capital Portfolio Company Escalon Services Hires CEO and President and COO
New Harbor Capital is excited to announce that portfolio company Escalon Services (“Escalon”, “the Company”) has hired Kimothy (Kim) Taylor as Chief Executive Officer and James (Jim) Petersen as President and Chief Operating Officer. Kim Taylor succeeds Ruby Sahiwal, Escalon Co-Founder, who will now serve as Chairman of the Board.
Since its founding, Escalon has served over 20,000 small and medium business (“SMB”) clients. The Company leverages technology-enablement to deliver Essential Business Services (“EBS”) with greater accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Today, the Company’s service offerings include accounting, finance, human resources, and insurance solutions.

Kim Taylor brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in the business services sector to his role as CEO of Escalon Services. Notably, he led Innovative Driven, an eDiscovery service for law firms, served as CEO of Intellective, a content management and workflow solution provider, and was President and CEO of IPRO, a tech-enabled business solutions provider. Additionally, Kim founded and sold his own company, Lex Solutio. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Operational Excellence from The Ohio State University and an MBA and Bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University (ASU).
Jim Petersen, President and COO, Escalon Services
Jim Petersen brings extensive experience developing professional services businesses to his position as President and COO of Escalon Services. Most recently, Jim served as the President and COO of BlueStar Energy/AEP Energy. Under his leadership, the company focused on driving customer growth and profitability. Before BlueStar, Jim held various leadership roles at Motorola, including leading the rollout of the Android mobile device portfolio with the largest wireless carrier in North America. Jim holds an MBA from Northwestern University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign.
